Opsy #11: Diving deep

If I learned anything from starting a community for operations people, it's that I had no idea how many specialties and titles were included in ops. πŸ˜…

Operations has traditionally been a catch-all for "back office" functions like logistics, finance, and HR... but, in recent years, it's grown to include a hell of a lot more. From no-code and special projects to marketing ops and revenue ops, the list is always growing! And I am into itttt.

It's been so fun to dig into these new fields with you over virtual coffees and, today, I'm excited to take these knowledge shares a bit further.

✨ Introducing Opsy Guides β€” deep dives into ops subjects that you're probably curious about but never make time to dig into. ✨

These guides will include:

  • An overview of the specialty - what it is, why it's important, and which tools and skills are the most in-demand
  • An overview of the roles - the titles, duties, and pay ranges πŸ’Έ for each
  • And your most pressing questions answered by experts from our very own community!

We're talking to members of our own community to better understand their roles and specialties so we can share their expertise with you in a fun, easy to understand format.

And, building off our recent podcast episode on the topic, we're starting with marketing operations.

Safe for Work: People Ops pro Jennifer Kim launched a long-form newsletter about "surviving, growing, and thriving at work." If you listened to her on the Opsy podcast, then you know it's sure to be a great read!

Helping Execs Prioritize Work: I loved this article from Chief of Staff Regina Gerbeaux about how she learned to prioritize her (and her CEO's) work. Relevant for anyone working close with a busy leader, but especially those new to a CoS role.
